Blank Card: Theo Thomas and his Famous Orchestra

This card features a reproduction of a postcard from the "Ocean to Ocean" tour of 1883, in which the Theodore Thomas Orchestra performed 65 concerts from New York to San Francisco and back to Chicago in time for one of Thomas' extremely popular Summer Night seasons. Julie Rive-King, the pianist, was one of the tour soloists, and was married to the tour's business manager. The tour was sponsored by the Decker Brothers piano company. This card measures approximately 5" x 7".
