When Orchestra Hall was built in the early 1900s, the building's architects wished to bring elements of nature into the building. The lobby spaces are adorned with many floral features, including floral-inspired sconces and banisters. During the renovation and conversion into Symphony Center in 1990s, the designers paid homage to this intent of the original architects, producing the pattern shown on this tie on many fixtures throughout the building.
