Illustrator: P. Craig Russel
Format: Hardcover, 128 pages
Publisher: NBM Publishing (2004)
Cartoonist P. Craig Russell has been drawing adaptations of the operatic repertoire for over 30 years, telling the tales of famous operas without the music. In this volume, see and read Russell’s interpretations of Richard Wagner’s Parsifal, alongside a lush and magisterial adaptation of Paul Dukas’ Ariadne and Bluebeard and a black-and-white take on Leoncavallo’s I Pagliacci. For good measure, two Mahler songs round out the collection.
